Fashion Fever - Love Train

For starters (judges) and for those of you who noticed and are like -_- yes the heart is supposed to be higher on one side than the other. No joke....it's part of the design
This is my submission to the first round of 's second cycle, the theme being blood lust. The challenge was to create a gothic design centered around a heart theme. Originally, my first sketches were darker and more lolita-ish, but then a surprise element was added in which we had to incorporate a color not normally associated with the goth look. IT took me a while to come up with this, but fortunately I hadn't finished my original sketches, so I basicaly started over.

Inpiration: for this design, I focused on finding a 'nontraditional' color that I didn't think anyone else would likely be using. The answer came when I started thinking about trains and remembered the children's book illustrations of train conductors wearing the grey/blue pinstriped overalls, which inspired the love train theme. Her undershirt is inspired by the mesh 'tattoo' shirts I have seen, but I tried to play up her paleness by making it a little more tan.....

Then my grandma died, and I had a hard time finishing it for the deadline. That and my computer REALLY hates me.
