Request: Jateshi

I know some of you have been waiting a while for your requests.....this one just kindof came to me last night on impulse, but don't worry, I haven't forgotten you all!

Anyway, this request is for for her OC Tia. The first time I have ever been able to draw bangs properly, I am very proud of myself. Anyway. Jateshi asked that Tia be dressed in white with an asian theme, which I think I managed okay, though I had to throw in a little color via the patterned sash. Her costume is truly a mutt of inspirations.....mostly it came from Jet Lee's "Hero" (a chinese historical movie). Broken Sword's apprentice, moon, wears an outfit very similar to this. I then added the japanese inspired neckline and sash with waist rope....knot....thing. I had to use an art book I have with kimonos in it for reference. Last but not least my sister has a japanese coin necklace that looks like the earrings, and the emblem on her necklace (which is supposed to be jade, btw) is on several asian peices in my mother's dining room display case. Lastly, I flat looooove tassels, so you get three. ^_^ Overall, very scattered, but Im an artist. We don't have limits.
Shortcomings......probably my lame background....I had to throw in the petals floating down. Very cliche and stock, but I ended up liking them a lot and they work well with her outfit. I think her hair was supposed to be darker brown, but I didnt have a prismacolor marker dark enough, so I just made it lighter. Other than that, I love everything about this picture. Hope you all love it as well!!!
